Zeppoli’s Restaurant opened in October of 1996. Owners Doris Fleming and Joe Slattery wanted to create an Italian restaurant that featured something they felt was lacking in many of the chain-type restaurants; fresh, made from scratch Italian cuisine, using both traditional recipes and some of their own creations. Both were seasoned restaurant people, Doris having lived here and worked over 20 years in various restaurant settings and Joe having owned and worked in 3 of his own restaurants in Blacksburg.

Drawing from recipes handed down by their Italian mothers and recipes they had created while working in other restaurants, they came up with a menu that features both traditional Italian foods and interesting and innovative dishes using favorite Italian ingredients.



All of the pasta including the ravioli is made fresh at the restaurant, along with the bread, soups, sausage, meatballs, sauces and many of the desserts. Shortly after opening, Zeppoli’s expanded its wine selections and opened a retail shop in the lobby of the restaurant. By offering its customers reasonably priced wines from around the world, they are able to truly enhance your dining experience.

Zeppoli’s Restaurant is a member of the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce and supports many charitable organizations in the area such as Special Olympics and the Knights of Columbus.

Today, Doris Fleming and Zeppoli’s Restaurant continue the tradition of offering great food and wine at great prices, and hope you will visit soon.

A special feature of Zeppoli’s is our wine shop. We love good wine with good food and we want you to enjoy it too! That’s why we have parted with tradition and priced our wine at the retail level. They can be purchased for retail consumption or to drink in the restaurant for a 2.00 corking fee.

We have wines from all over the world, Our Italian collection includes 12-15 Chiantis, numerous Pinot Grigios, Barolos, Brunellos, Barbarescos, Super Tuscans, Primitivo, Barbera, Dolcetto, Amarone, Valpolicellla, Aglianico etc. We also have an extensive French and California collection, along with wines from Spain, Germany, Austria, South Africa, Portugal, Chile, Argentina, Greece, Oregon, Washington and of course Virginia. There are generally between 500-600 different labels to choose from, with prices ranging from 6.00-100.00.
